E-1: The first of the E-System camera bodies, and one I have used for several years now. Out of all the present Olympus E-System cameras available, including the E-3, I find the E-1 to be the most aesthetically pleasing.

OM3Ti PDF Print E-mail

Olympus OM3Ti: I purchased this camera in response to Olympus' announcement to cease production of the OM system in 2002. Prior to this, I had been toying with the idea of buying one for many years, but was put off by its high cost. Imminent discontinuation kind of forced the issue as I saw it as a last chance to purchase an OM camera body new and wanted to ensure continued use of my OM system components well into the future.

Olympus OM4Ti: I made acquaintance with this camera back in 1991 as part of an exercise to upgrade my existing gear and provide my OM1n with some relief. The high cost of the 4Ti took some justifying but I saw it as a worthy investment which should last me many years.

Olympus OM1n: A Wonderful all mechanical camera that has served me well since 1982, and continues to do so. It is solid, reliable and compact. The 1.35v mercury cell powers only the light meter, therefore the camera can be used without batteries, assuming that the user has other methods of metering. Mercury cells are difficult to find, but various battery replacements or conversion kits that allow other cell types to be used, are readily available.

Zuiko 38mm F2.8 Macro PDF Print E-mail

Zuiko 38mm f2.8 macro lens: This is one of the high magnification lenses made by Olympus. It can be mounted directly onto a camera body, but requires some form of extension to be of any benefit. Two main units were provided by Olympus for this purpose; the 65-116 telescopic tube and a set of very well made auto bellows. I use the former, as I have found it to be fairly robust and very portable. Other extension tubes can be used, such as combinations of the 7, 14 and 25mm variants. However, magnification is more limited.
